Great post Lewis. I think this makes so much sense for fashion retail. I have recently had a couple of experiences with Live Chat and they been quite valuable. To be able to ask questions to a knowledgeable 'sales associate' would be very helpful. It is extremely important the person on live chat be knowledgeable, helpful, and responsive. While it is a good point that you can do other things while waiting for live chat person to respond, it cannot be too long a wait or you will totally frustrate the customer.

Lewis - Its been the same story for a long time. Not high enough accuracy and no applications with real ROI type of benefit at the store level. We always hear about different cool features/apps that might be used with RFID - instantaneous physical inventory counts, being able to locate an item by shelf/bin, or checkout, where a customer can walk out of the store and get receipt emailed to them. But the accuracy and cost benefit has never been proven and I think until it does, RFID is dead!

On the other hand, I think RFID might have more value for the customer, where a customer may have an RFID card, which can be immediately identified by Sales Associate for easy clienteling activities and for payment - no need to swipe and sign.

Hey Lewis,

It's great to see this new blog! I am very much looking forward to hearing more war stories. I know your experience, knowledge, not to mention your wit, will be both valuable and entertaining.

Having only attended 6 NRF conferences, I cannot imagine how much things must have changed over 33 years. Best of luck!
